Atec Group appoints ex-BGL CEO and aims to accelerate M&A after PE swoop

European private equity investor Perwyn has acquired Atec Group, in an off-market transaction from Kester Capital.

Atec is a distribution platform led by CEO Brendan Devine and chief financial officer Ian Gilbert. The group consists of Ceta, a niche personal lines broker, and the managing general agent Arkel.

Ceta Insurance Brokers was purchased by its non-executive directors and management supported by private equity firm Kester Capital in 2017, as existing shareholders were set to retire.
