AMII to address transparency of claims

The Association of Medical Insurance Intermediaries (AMII) is to approach UK private medical insurers (PMI) and the British Insurance Brokers Association (BIBA) to form a discussion panel to focus on the serious issue of transparency of claims information in PMI.

AMII said it believes the panel should have an independent chairperson. AMII would represent specialist healthcare intermediaries and IFA's and Biba would represent the wider sector of general insurance brokers.

Mike Izzard, AMII’s chairman said: “This is a very important industry topic and the only way to improve the flow of information is for all the relevant parties to get together, including the underwriting community. We are proposing all these parties sit round the same table and explore
