The news is full of emerging technologies that could have a dramatic
effect on the way insurance is transacted.


This month, I will focus on ADSL (Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line).


This is a new technology for transmitting digital information at very high
bandwidths on existing phone lines. Unlike regular phone services, ADSL
provides a continuous connection, and was designed to exploit the one-way
nature of most multimedia communication.
