A star in cyberspace.

Leslie Smith, chairman and MD of Medibroker, talks to Tim Collison about the run-away success that his company has experienced as the first of a new generation of cyberbrokers.

Can you name a broker which is making a real success of selling
insurance on the Internet? Not easy is it? Anyone who is anyone now has a
website, but few brokers are actually making any money from their presence
on the Internet. Medibroker, however, makes all its money on the
Internet.

Launched just under two years ago, the Whitley Bay-based company has over
1000 clients on its books, is averaging 155,000 hits a month, and is on
target to bring in £1m in gross written premium income this year.
