The Association of British Insurers has stepped up its campaign
against the growing number of car-related crimes.


At a recent conference organised by the ABI and the Motor Insurance Repair
and Research Centre, it was revealed that car thieves are increasingly
using advanced technology to steal cars. Electronic scanners can obtain
the alarm code for a car, with many thieves stealing to order for export
or for parts.
