Confused .com warning as FSA issues aggregator recommendations
In response to the Financial Services Authority's recommmendations into the regulation of the aggregator market, Jennifer Rose, PR manager at Confused.com, said: "We welcome any regulation to the aggregator market -our only concern is with the possibility of over-regulation, which would not be in the interest of the customer and would stifle any competition in the market."
She continued: "We would hope to see guidelines similiar to Ofcom and Energy Watch, which would be flexible enough to evolve with the market." She added that any FSA involvement would likely result in consolidation in the aggregator market: "The market will shrink and it probably would have done regardless of the FSA's recommendations, as there are too many players in the market. We are starting to see some players disappear, and the market will likely end up with just a few key players."Only users who have a paid subscription or are part of a corporate subscription are able to print or copy content.
