Ageas UK head Watson named ABI motor committee chairman

Watson will assume the role in the New Year.

Ageas UK chief executive Andy Watson will become chairman of the Association of British Insurers' (ABI) motor committee.

Watson - who will also remain a member of the ABI's general insurance committee - will assume the role as of 1 January 2014.

Speaking about his new position, Watson said: "I'm delighted to be taking up this role, particularly at a time when there are so many key policy decisions impacting the future of the UK motor market.
