Insurers named and shamed by FOS

UK Insurance, part of Royal Bank of Scotland, racked up the highest number of general insurance complaints referred to the Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS) according to new figures.

Blanc promises big changes within six months

Axa’s Amanda Blanc has promised brokers that they will see substantial changes to its relationship management approach within six months as the insurer brings personal lines intermediary and commercial lines into one structure.

Axa has revealed a combined operating ratio of 100.4% for UK property and casualty (P&C) business in the first six months of 2012, consistent with the 100% achieved in the same period of 2011.

Blanc: Restructuring is not about cost

The restructuring by Axa to bring its personal lines and commercial lines intermediary business back together will allow the insurer to take a more ‘holistic’ approach to broker relationships, CEO Amanda Blanc has told Insurance Age.
