Hiscox promotes from within for underwriting chief role

Hiscox has made three senior appointments across underwriting, claims and risk roles.

Joanne Musselle has been promoted from head of UK claims to chief underwriting officer for Hiscox UK and Ireland.

Ms Musselle has been with the insurer since 2002, and has previously worked at Axa and Aviva.

Stepping into the UK claims head role is Bob Thaker, who was previously chief risk officer. Before joining Hiscox in 2010, Mr Thaker worked at Bradford & Bingley and KPMG.

Finally, replacing Mr Thaker as chief risk officer is Penny Shaw. She joins from Ace where she was European group head
