CII members give Amanda Blanc seal of approval

Amanda Blanc

Amanda Blanc has been elected president of the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) by its members.

Ms Blanc, who is CEO of Axa Commercial Lines and Personal Intermediary, replaces Julian James, CEO of Lockton, in the role of the CII’s 116th president.

Tom Woolgrove, managing director, personal lines at Direct Line Group, has been elected deputy president.

Aviva to open US commercial lines branch in New York

Aviva is setting up an onshore surplus lines business in the US, based in New York City, with a target of starting to trade in the second quarter of this year in a move it claimed will strengthen its proposition for brokers and clients.
