At the end of November Insurance Age in association with the Chartered Insurance Institute will be launching an interactive online forum where you will be able to discuss important topical issues, using an Oxford-style debate.

And kicking off the week-long Insurance Debate site, we will be proposing: "This house believes as an industry, the insurance sector will never get to a position where it is comparable to the classic professions in addressing consumer needs, developing faith in and policing practice?"

Agreeing with the statement will be Jonathan Swift, content director for the insurance division at Incisive Media. He will argue the insurance industry faces a nigh on impossible task to convince the public that
