The rising tide of private equity investment into insurance distributors has been a trend for many years. Across 2018 and 2019, private equity was indirectly involved in over two-thirds of the merger & acquisition transactions involving UK insurance distributors valued above £5m, according to IMAS Corporate Finance.

But as the pandemic takes effect on the economy, leading to sweeping operational changes and a recessionary environment, some observers predict a post-pandemic reduction in private
