Biba 2024: Experts have mixed outlook on UK economy

In the Biba 2024 conference session ‘What’s next for the economy?’, hosted by Clive Myrie, the panel expressed mixed views on the outlook for the UK, focusing on productivity, regulation and the election.

Jane Kielty, CEO of Aon UK, told delegates at the British Insurance Brokers’ Association’s event yesterday that she believes this will be a “really difficult year” with low growth for its clients.

“We survey business leaders every year about the things that they see as their biggest risks,” Kielty said. “They are talking about the slowdown in the economy and low recovery. So economy slowdown is in the top three risks of 3000 business leaders for the UK and global responses to that question.”
