Countrywide pulls out of broker-distributed business
The legal indemnity specialist, which had been working with around 80 brokers, says it has decided to revert to a sole focus on solicitors.
Countrywide Legal Indemnities has stopped working with general insurance brokers, Insurance Age can reveal.
In a communication sent to brokers and seen by Insurance Age, the provider said it would no longer be underwriting new legal indemnity business by insurance brokers from 1 May 2021.

Countrywide told Insurance Age in a statement: “The decision by Countrywide to no longer work with brokers was not taken lightly, but the recent prolonged heightened activity in the property market
