Brokers call for harsher penalties for fraudsters selling false insurance policies

Ghost broking was the hot topic in October, appropriately enough for the time of year. The eerie term, which refers to fraudsters selling false insurance policies, usually to motor customers, has enjoyed a spike in publicity recently.

An Insurance Fraud Enforcement Department (IFED) investigation culminated in 27 arrests being made at the beginning of last month. Furthermore, two high-profile cases came before the courts in October. Danyal Buckharee, the conman behind the Aston Midshires scam
