Without doubt, the top insurance gossip this month, or even this century, was the news that a subsidiary company of Munich Re, Ergo, had invited prostitutes to a party held to reward the company’s top sales staff at a Budapest spa in 2007. Polly’s not sure if the details of how the ladies in question were ‘administered’ owe more to the host’s Germanic instincts or whether it is a natural reaction of risk advisers, either way, the efficiency of the whole operation really stood out.
