The self-sustaining and refreshingly honest nature of the Midlands insurance market mean it is well-equipped to ride out these difficult times, reports Martin Friel.

The more honest and straightforward in the Midlands market will tell you they have been through the mill this year and the results of our survey of Midlands' readers backs that up. That's not to say that this market has suffered anymore than others in the UK - it's just that they are a bit more pragmatic and less likely to fudge the issue in the Midlands. Broking profits fall at Saga

Underlying profit before tax in Saga’s insurance broking arm fell to £39.8m for the year ended 31 January 2024, compared with £71.5m in the previous period.
