As UK M&A targets dwindle could team hires offer consolidators a new path to growth?

An ongoing feature of the London market, there are signs that team lifts and hires might soon be on the rise in the UK retail space too, writes Saxon East.

Over recent months, there have been some notable team lifts across the broking and managing general agent space featuring names that might not normally be associated with such moves.

In an email sent to brokers in July, Mercia Underwriting explained that several staff had resigned and left the MGA temporarily short-staffed. Reinforcements were on the way.
