Market moves: The usual suspects

The usual suspects were as active as ever on the Market moves front last month, with Gallagher announcing several big name departures, as well as one well-known industry figure jumping on board. Lorica, true to form, added several new recruits, including three from Towergate, and elsewhere, JLT reshuffled its senior management. On the insurer side of the market, RSA created waves with three director departures, while LV shook things up with a series of appointments and promotions in its senior management team. Meanwhile, 1 Answer Network has a new MD and Biba appointed a new non-exec.

Insurers

Insurers were decidedly more peaceful than brokers last month in terms of appointments, although RSA did buck that trend somewhat (See box below).

However, if the market was slightly lacking in volume of moves, that was more than made up for by the magnitude of them – most of the recruitment that went on was related to fairly senior roles.

Case in point is Ageas Insurance, where Cathy Taylor was appointed as head of commercial underwriting and operations. She replaces Roy Watkinson
