David Worsfold investigates how insurer regulation in Gibraltar has changed following ten years of insurer failures.

The recent very public war of words between failed insurer MCE Insurance and the Gibraltar Financial Services Commission (GFSC) has once again turned the spotlight on insurer regulation on The Rock.

This comes at the end of a decade of high profile failures on the Rock that have left UK policyholders without cover and imposed significant financial burdens on the UK’s Financial Services Compensation Scheme.
