Editor's letter: Consumer Duty – maybe not so 'Mission Impossible' after all?

I am really looking forward to the film 'Mission Impossible Seven', or to give it it’s exact title: ‘Mission Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One’.

In fact I am really, really looking forward to the film and have my ticket already bought at the biggest screen in the UK – the BFI Imax – this month.

For most brokers ‘July 2023’ and Mission Impossible probably means something entirely different, namely dealing with the introduction of the new Financial Conduct Authority Consumer Duty regulations, which like Tom Cruise’s latest blockbuster movie, seemed to have been trailed for years now.

Rather that the broking sector facing a future that
