Complaint Policy

Please help our moderators decide how to respond to a complaint by putting it into one of the following categories.

Defamatory or libellous
A defamatory comment is one that is capable of damaging the reputation of a person or organisation.

In contempt of court or breaks a court injunction
A comment that risks prejudicing current or forthcoming court proceedings: or, for example, names an individual or speculates as to their current whereabouts after a court has issued an injunction against doing so.

Breaches copyright
Content - text, pictures, illustrations or video - which has been copied by someone who doesn't own the copyright.

Unlawful, harassing, abusive, threatening, harmful, obscene, profane, sexually explicit or racially offensive
A comment contains language which is unlawful, harassing, threatening, harmful, obscene, profane, sexually explicit, racially offensive, homophobic or otherwise strongly objectionable.

Incites people to commit a crime
A comment that incites people to commit a crime.

Contains offensive language
A profanity or other language which might offend other people

Spam
The same message, or very similar messages, has been posted more than once.

Not relevant to the discussion
A post which is not relevant to the particular story or issue that forms the core subject of the discussion.

Contains personal information
Your's or anyone else's contact details, including address, place of employment, name of educational establishment, telephone or mobile number, email address, etc, have been published.

Advertises or promotes products or services
Contains information which advertises or promotes non-Incisive Media products and services for profit.

Not in English
A post contains languages other than English (which is the language of Incisive Media's websites). Common greetings and salutations in languages other than English may be acceptable.

Appears to impersonate someone else
A user is seen to be impersonating someone (including other contributors).

Has an inappropriate username
Anything vulgar, offensive, etc.
