Romero wins High Court battle with Eastwood & Partners

High Court London

The High Court in London has ruled in favour of Romero Insurance Brokers in the firm’s legal battle against former corporate manager Andrew Templeton and Eastwood & Partners.

Leeds-based Romero had been suing Mr Templeton and Eastwood for a breach of contract. The case was heard on 22-24 April.

Eastwood will now have to pay Romero damages and costs of £110,000, as well as their own legal costs for defending the action. Eastwood agreed to pay any damages and legal costs on behalf of Mr Templeton.

Insurance Age can reveal that the judgment found the covenants in Mr Templeton's contract were enforceable and that there had not been a breach of his contract by Romero.
