BGL jumps into Biba online debate

The BGL Group has countered the British Insurance Brokers' Association's (Biba) views on the transactional nature of insurance, describing them as "prehistoric".

It came after Biba chief executive Eric Galbraith spoke of the "unhealthy focus" on price that has emerged in the aggregator era.

But BGL chief operating officer Matthew Donaldson insisted he was "staggered at the inaccuracy of the claims".

And he insisted that more than half of customers choose a product that isn't the cheapest and defended aggregators for making it "easy" for them to compare products.
