Allianz Cornhill has insisted that brokers will not notice any difference when it switches some of its call centre operations to India under plans to export 400 UK jobs - 10% of its workforce - there by the end of 2005 and save £5m a year.

John Knowles, director of IT and offshore operations, Allianz Cornhill, also warned that other insurers were bound to follow suit. He said all quoted insurers will have to look to move back-office and call-centre operations to India, describing the mix of 2m
