Homeowners 'can't be bothered' shopping around for cover

Homeowners could be missing out on great deals by neglecting to shop around for their home contents or buildings policies according to a survey conducted by Sainsbury’s Home Insurance.

The survey found that 8.55 million people (26% of homeowners) failed to obtain any additional quotes the last time they renewed their cover. A further 16% only bothered to get one extra quote besides that supplied by their current provider.

The new research highlights the true extent of homeowners’ apathy towards shopping around for home insurance cover.
