FCA data shows complaints about insurance intermediaries continue to fall

Fourth consecutive half year of falling complaints.

The number of complaints relating to general insurance intermediaries collated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) decreased by 19% in the second half of 2014, compared to the same period in 2013.

The FCA data showed there had been a total of 270,195 broker complaints between July and December 2014 whereas the comparable figure for 2013 was 333,782.

This means that in total complaints about intermediaries in 2014 came in at 576,643, a 21.6% decrease on 2013 when it was 736,267.
