AA Insurance has launched a new-look advertising campaign in an
effort to set itself apart from the rest of the insurance market. The
series of 11 ads, which will run throughout 1999, are set in a call centre
and feature a team leader called Leo, giving his staff a rousing speech
about the AA's commitment to becoming a 100% telebroker. George Lowe,
director of AA Insurance, says: "We are changing our distribution in line
with our customers' preferences. More people want to do business over the
telephone, but they also want someone else to do the shopping around for
them. Brokers are fighting back as some direct insurers lose ground in the
market. These commercials are all about the benefits for customers of
using one business to search the leading companies for the lowest quote."
