GISC - make your mind up time.
After many months of discussion, GISC has finally been launched. Now the dust has settled, it is time for those in the industry to get involved and not watch from the wings, says Mike Slack.
So, after many trials and tribulations, General Insur-ance StandardsCouncil has been launched. It has been my privilege to serve on the GISC
Board and, despite difficulties and criticisms, there is a feeling of
quiet satisfaction that we have come such a long way in a such a short
space of time.
The timescale set for the start-up of GISC was tough and, with such
hurdles in the way as the Competitions Act, there were times when the
launch date looked very distant.
