The General Insurance Standards Council has fined insurance services
company Fitz Samuel £10,000 after an investigation revealed that the firm
had been grossing up its premiums. Fitz Samuel admitted to charging a
higher premium to its customers than it quoted to the organisation. It has
agreed to the conditions on its continuing membership of GISC, including
restitution to the customers concerned.
