Q: The consultative document issued by the Financial Services
Authority on the repeal of polarisation worries me. Am I wrong to consider
selling my Independent Financial Adviser business?

The document is at the consultative stage and it may be months or even
years before its provisions come into full force. It does point out,
however, the way the FSA is thinking - the new era is one of openness.
