Hiscox has issued a warning following a successful settlement against Merrill Lynch for £1m following inappropriate behaviour at a staff Christmas party. ML was successfully sued by an employee for sexual harassment as a result of inappropriate remarks made by a senior lawyer. Hiscox is urging employers to ensure their staff are aware of strict laws against discrimination on grounds of gender and sexual orientation, which apply in and out of the workplace.
