Andrew Paddick has claimed 35% of the anti-rule 42 appeal donations
he has received have come from brokers who are not members of the
Institute of Insurance Brokers. Mr Paddick appealed to brokers for funding
in order to appeal against the Office of Fair Trading's decision to accept
the General Insurance Council's rule 42. This rule states GISC-member
insurers can only trade with GISC-member brokers. He said: "I'm not
prepared to disclose how much we have been given in total, but it's an
awful lot
