Carlyle Insurance Brokers is warning businesses of the potential
costs they may incur following recent legislation governing the handling
of pollution on land. Under the Environment Act 1995, which was made law
last year, all businesses now face investigation, fines and high clean-up
costs if their land is found to be contaminated. The broker outlined the
possible ramifications of the legislation at a recent series of seminars
held at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff.
