The General Insurance Standards Council will go live on 3 July with avoluntary membership, comprising mainly large brokers and intermediary
chains. It is hoping to have 1000 members by December.
Ruling out the prospect of a third consultation period, the council will
publish its rulebook during May, and will accept feedback at trade body
level.
The rulebook will embody a revised version of the original GISC proposals,
which took on board many of the concerns raised in the second consultation
period
