The insurance industry must strip away unnecessary managerial layers

This was the view Syd Pennington, group director of the customers and
people division of Royal & SunAlliance, aired at the Chartered Institute
of Loss Adjusters' conference and AGM held at Edinburgh's Sheraton Grand
Hotel last week.


He argued that the process and systems-driven ethos prevalent within the
industry has created a bureaucratic operating system and many in
management are out
