Marsh is to overhaul Aldgate, Sedgwick's commercial lines middlemarket operation, and from April 2000, will transfer all of its own
mid-range business into the facility.
Aldgate was set up at the end of 1996 as a joint venture between Sedgwick,
Commercial Union and Royal Insurance to channel all business through a
central team of underwriters in Manchester.
In a strategic change, Marsh is now deploying all front-facing client
relations back to the regions, with each office having an Aldgate
team.
