Law firm Hill Dickinson has warned that, far from reducing the cost
of litigation as intended, the Woolf reforms are actually costing insurers
more. According to the firm, costs are pushed up because solicitors are
being forced to attend pre-trial hearings in person, whereas pre-Woolf,
such matters could be dealt with via correspondence.
