The Association of Insurance Intermediaries and Brokers is set to
join the British Insurance Brokers' Association. If the merger goes
ahead.


BIBA estimates that its members will sell 80% of insurance distributed by
brokers in the UK.


The AIIB is holding an extra ordinary General Meeting in February/March in
which its 400 members will vote on the proposal, but both trade bodies are
confident the motion will go ahead by April.


Mike Slack, chairman of the AIIB, will join the BIBA board and BIBA

The Financial Conduct Authority grew group headcount from 5,379 to 5,510 its report and accounts for the year ended 31 March 2026 has revealed.
