This year's IFST conference had clear warnings for the industry about IT-related issues, but also praise for its preparations for the year 2000. Alex Miller reports.
As well as the usual warnings about ignoring IT-related issues, thisyear's Insurance and Financial Services Technology Conference, held in
Birmingham last month, the insurance sector was praised for being ahead of
the majority of UK industries in terms of readiness for the new
millennium.
However, both brokers and insurers were urged not to become complacent
about millennium compliance as there are still many hurdles to
overcome.
