Ian Richens tells Alex Broad how constant reinvention and an awareness of market trends have evolved FM Green into a growing niche commercial broker.
One canny commercial broker with his eye on more acquisition targetsis Ian Richens, chief executive of FM Green. He bought the business,
founded in 1882 by Frederick Green as the first insurance brokerage in
Witney, in 1972 with his wife and continued to run it as a local
operation.
They soon realised there were two options - either to stay local or make
the business grow. If the collection of awards and swelling turnover are
an indication, the latter tactic has paid off.
