Going round in circles?

Winning the business is one thing, servicing it and keeping it is another. John Berry looks at how a variety of outsourcing initiatives can help insurers and brokers survive in today's increasingly competitive market place.

A major headache for today's general insurance industry are the
constraints imposed on incumbents by legacy processes and IT systems.

These restrict both brokers and insurers when they ought to be striving to
deal with problems such as increasing competition from new market entrants
on price and service, the need to launch innovative new products without
delay, and the need to embrace new forms of distribution.

Poor processing reduces the quality of service a broker can supply.
