The Financial Services Authority (FSA) is devising plans for a new
designation for financial advisers.


At the Society of Financial advisers Update in Birmingham last month,
David Jackman, head of industry training at the FSA, told delegates that
the growth of qualifications was a problem for the industry.


The new qualification that the FSA is working on with SOFA and the
Chartered Insurance Institute would create the definitive designation that
would have widespread recognition.
