BIBA Conference on film 2009
In the first part of a series of camera interviews conducted at this year's Biba conference in Manchester, Sarah Hills - senior reporter, Post Magazine - talks to a range of industry spokespeople on the key issues and concerns faced by the insurance broking fraternity in 2009 and beyond.
This instalment looks at regulation. We ask Axa's customer experience director Paul Meehan how the Financial Services Authority's decision to grant industry status on broker commission disclosure, transparency and conflicts of interest has had an impact the broker market.
Biba's chief executive Eric Galbraith and Ged Smith, regional managing director, Jardine Lloyd Thompson Corporate Risks - a division of Jardine Lloyd Thompson UK - then give their views on the effect of the increase in FSA fees and levies on the broking fraternity, as well as what impact the increased probability of regulation will have following the banking crisis.
