Gallagher burns $25m in six months on Oval and Giles integration

Costs increase compared to $12.9m in the first half of last year.

Arthur J Gallagher has spent $25m (£16m) this year as it seeks to integrate the Oval and Giles businesses.

Gallagher said in its results that the costs were "primarily related to the consolidation of offices in the UK, technology costs, the onboarding of over 2,000 employees, branding and incentive compensation".

The figures were in line with the first quarter when the bill had reached $12.9m.

However the current $25m comes on top of last year's figures.

In the first six months of 2014 Gallagher
