Majority of brokers say clients unwilling to pay more for environmental products
Nearly half (49.6%) of brokers believe there is a market for insurance products incorporating environmental elements, but only a minority believe customers would be willing to pay a higher premium for them, according to research by Ecclesiastical.
A further quarter (25.6%) felt there is a market and a minority of customers would be willing to pay higher premiums for this type of product. Only a fifth (18.8%) saw no market for this type of product at all.
The survey also revealed that more than half the brokers questioned (53%) believe that working to combat climate change is at least quite important and that broking businesses are taking a limited range of actions to protect the environment.
