Amanda Blanc says she feels “responsible” for addressing industry sexism

Aviva CEO, Amanda Blanc, has spoken on Women’s Hour this week to say she felt compelled to address sexist incidents as one of only nine female FTSE 100 CEOs.

In a discussion with show host, Emma Barnett, Blanc stated:Lots of other people have experienced it. Lots of the private stories I heard made me really concerned.

“As a woman I always said it isn’t for me to speak out but actually it is. With nine women FTSE CEOs, if I am not going to speak out who is? You feel the responsibility rather than the sadness.”
