Edward Nicholl retires as chairman of Lycetts
He joined the broker in 1973.
Edward Nicholl has retired and left his role as chairman of Lycetts, Insurance Age has learned.
He is understood to have left the broker some weeks ago and was semi-retired prior to his departure.
Nicholl joined Lycetts as a new development director in 1973, and prior to that worked at Willis.
He took up the position of chief executive from previous incumbent John Browne-Swinburne in 1992 and that of chairman in 2002.

According to the firm's website the broker grew from its Newcastle base
