Fraud continues to be one of the biggest problems facing the insurance industry with wrongdoers adding an estimated £44 to the cost of the average policy bought by honest consumers.

In recent months it would appear that application fraud has very much become the major focus for insurers. Claims fraud, however, remains a serious problem. Because no matter what insurers do at source, they still face significant challenges in weeding out the bogus claims from the legitimate ones.
