Willis Group has reported a fall in commissions and fees to $837m [£538.6m] in the second quarter of 2012, down from $852m in the same period of 2011.

Total revenues were also down to $842m for the three months to 30 June 2012, compared to $861m in 2011.

For the half year the broking giant saw total revenues effectively flat at £1.855bn (H1 2011: $1.868bn).

However net income rose to $110m (Q2 2011: $89m) for the quarter and to $341m (H1 2011: $131m) although the broker noted the 2011 figure had been impacted by debt repurchase and write-offs along with other charges.
